The Who’s Tommy at Shenandoah University
I have seen the band in concert several times and I have seen the National Touring show of The Who’s Tommy. I knew Shenandoah University had a great reputation for dance, drama and music. However, I was not sure they could pull off this rock musical. I was corrected! Continue reading
Civilization (All You Can Eat) at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company
My guest and I went hog-wild over the lunacy and ferociousness of Jason Grote’s Civilization (All You Can Eat), which is playing at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company. Art at Montgomery Playhouse
Three talented actors demonstrate how fragile long-time friendships can be in the Montgomery Playhouse’s powerful, bitingly funny production of Yasmina Reza’s Art performed at the Arts Barn in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The play begins with Serge, played by Joe Barry, purchasing a rather plain white painting for a shocking 200,000 euros. Serge’s friend Marc, portrayed by Steve Snapp, does not like the painting and Serge is offended. The third friend Yvan (Roger Stone) is thrown right in the middle of things. It’s not pretty. Continue reading
