As a unique feature of the DC Source Festival a dozen artists from a wide variety of disciplines spent the last four months developing intermingled pieces to present in an Artistic Blind Date. Four groups of three artists combined their specialties into outrageous and mind boggling performances that will be different every time.
Perspectivoyage: The Mann Bobb McCauley Experience takes the artistic expertise of actor Dave Bobb, visual artist Matthew Mann and choreographer Lucy Bowen McCauley and combines them into an almost other worldly exploration of the individual perspective we all perceive. With the inclusion of pre-recorded conversations, a specially designed back drop and light set up and the fluidity of half choreographed, half improved movements, the show is sensory stimulating on all fronts.
A seamless mix of the three artistic disciplines, it was up to each individual audience member to create their own definition for what each performer was creating. Expect to be transported to some familiar place or feeling or memory that you can’t quite name. It will allow you to grasp onto some semblance of reality and ride the performance out with a modicum a mental safety.
If you’re looking for a once in a life time experience or happen to be searching for something a little different, Perspectivoyage will fulfill your every hope and dream. If the original and absurd isn’t your personal favorite, take advantage of any of 25 shows at the DC Source Festival to find something a little more tame.
Source Festival runs through July 3rd at Source -1835 14th Street, NW, in Washington, DC. For more information and the list of plays, click here.
