Unstrung Harpist Productions presents Flyboy, a drama about an aspiring astronaut who has to choose between life with his family and a mission that would make him a legend. The outstanding performances of the cast keep the audience’s rapt attention as Jake Young, played by Jonathan W. Colby, competes for a shot at glory with his contender, Rob Pearce, played by Julian Elijah Martinez. The men are pushed to their psychological limits while training for a mission that would keep them in isolation for forty years. Deep questions concerning the concept of time, love, and the strength of the human psyche leave the audience contemplative and somber. While not a lighthearted play, it is thought provoking and interesting, and the performances are amongst some of the most passionate I’ve ever seen.
