Two great actresses partake in a verbal battle in this energy-charged ‘re-sounding comedy’ filled with gibberish, cranberries, bells chiming, a cat meowing quite loudly, hand puppets, cards thrown all over the ground, and a blue yo yo. I can’t tell you I understood everything that was being said by these two great actresses, but it didn’t really matter because Elizabeth Darby was fabulous as Loan – who “paid a lot of money to be here alone in the universe,”and Hannah Burkhauser was a hoot as the bubbly and animated guest – Sum. The verbal give-and-take by them was humorous and at times quite bizarre. It’s worth a trip to see these two wonderful performers verbally clawing at each other.
Director/Writer John Sowalsy provides a bouncy score.
