The Capital Fringe Festival is known for being on the edge of the scene, but the unique Pepys Inc. team presentation of e-Geaux (beta) blows the competition out of the water. Take one part live theater, one part improv, two parts technological badassery and a sprinkle of hilarious glitches to get a wickedly funny social networking commentary, above and beyond what one could ever imagine. By incorporating audience Facebook information, the cast was able to interact with the brave participators who followed along on their phones, unlocking special personalized web content.
Pepys Inc. founder and leading man of the evening Joseph Price managed to suavely stumble and glide through the first performance without much mishap. Stage time was shared with assistants Hannah Poferl (adorably needy) and Allen Leis (perfectly half-nerd, half-bro) and comical cameos by team members Amy Couchoud, Jason Pittman and Chuck Harmston peppered the evening. If you ‘Opt In’ to the show, be prepared for audience participation and even a chance to be on stage. An absolute must see for techies, comedy lovers and anyone whose even heard of the Internet!
