Losing My Religion: Confessions of a New Age Refugee is a one man show, performed and written by Seth Lepore, that explores the legitimacy of the new age spiritual movement and self-help movement. Lepore, dressed in all black, tells the audience his life story in front of white backdrop, but the performance is anything but simple. As the lighting fades in and out, Lepore impersonates different spiritual guides that are all convinced their faith or program is the best. Lepore is a brilliant comedian (he perfects accents and extreme personalities) that does not need props in order to keep the crowd entertained. The show also educates, as well as entertains, explaining the concepts of Buddhism, the cult of yoga, and other ways of life. The show raises many questions about faith and leaving the audience in contemplation. Come, watch, and learn about faith, religion, and identity.
