Michael Bunce has appeared at Ford’s Theatre in Liberty Smith, Parade and One Destiny. He is currently in Ford’s production of A Christmas Carol and will return in the spring for 1776. At Signature Theatre Mike played Pirelli in Sweeney Todd and also performed in Pacific Overtures and Urinetown. He has toured with Toni Tenille in Victor Victoria and in the National Tour of The Scarlet Pimpernel. A very talented man indeed.
What brought you to the DC area?
Originally from the area, moved away for a bit, then returned to familiar ground.
Did you grow up knowing you were going to be an actor?
Not necessarily. Did a few plays in junior high, found I liked it and was fairly okay at it.
How many productions have you performed in at Ford’s Theatre?
Five or six amidst a few A Christmas Carols.
At Ford’s you performed in One Destiny with Stephen F. Schmidt. Over the years, how many performances do you think you have logged in?
The last time I am aware of an official count, it was 150 a year or two ago, so I’d say by now, maybe 300?
What are some of your favorite productions?
The most recent production of Parade definitely and the more cynical I become with age, the more I enjoy A Christmas Carol.
