Ian Tresselt, Managing Director of Everyman Theatre, has announced that he will leave the Baltimore theatre company to pursue a double Masters Degree in Design Leadership at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).
“Everyman has always been more than just a job for me,” Mr. Tresselt said in a statement. “I am so honored to have been a part of Everyman’s growth – both artistically and administratively – and to have seen us through our Capital Campaign and the Grand Opening of our new building on Fayette Street. I am proud of Everyman’s incredible accomplishments and I am certain that the company’s path moving forward will remain strong.”
Mr. Tresselt came to Everyman Theatre in 2008. Since his arrival, the theatre has continued to grow its budget and increase subscription rates year after year while staying true to its mission of affordable, high quality theatre. Mr. Tresselt was a vital part of the organization’s move to its current home on Fayette Street, which opened in January 2013.
Mr. Tresselt is a Maryland native and a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama.
Everyman Theatre will engage a search agency to identify candidates for the Managing Director position. The search will begin in early 2015.
