Start spreading the news! The Pennsylvania Theatre Guide is now online and ready to serve the performing arts community and its theatregoers.
This online publication may be new to Pennsylvania, but the company is not new. Founded in June of 2011, Maryland Theatre Guide officially launched as a company featuring original online reviews, articles, and videos. The Guide also serves as a resource where performing arts organizations may post their audition notices, shows, and workshops and classes on the Events Calendar.
In a highly competitive online auction in 2012, publisher Mark Beachy purchased the NY Theatre Guide in hopes of expanding his brand. Plans are also in the works to expand the Theatre Guide to other states across the country including Illinois, Virginia, and Florida.
Besides reviews, Pennsylvania Theatre Guide features original videos. On our other Theatre Guide’s you can see samples of what to expect. Some favorite videos include an interview with Jim Davis, the creator of Garfield, actor Kevin Spacey, singer Michael Feinstein, Cameron Garrity, founder of The Geppetto Festival, and founder of the Mosaic Theatre Company, Ari Roth to name a few. The Theatre Guide even produced a live webcast of Baltimore Shakespeare Factory’s production of The Merchant of Venice.
A popular column to look for is the ‘Top 5 Shows of The Week’ which honors 5 shows each week.
Publisher Mark Beachy wishes to publicly thank Assignment Editor Elliot Lanes and Managing Editor April Forrer for helping to launch PA Theatre Guide!
The Pennsylvania Theatre Guide website is easy to navigate, informative, and highly entertaining. This publication is also very respectable, providing reviews and articles that are fair and honest, thorough, and family friendly. So start spreading the news!
