The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC (GMCW) is pleased to announce the second concert of their 2020-2021 40th Anniversary Season. The season will continue with a virtual version of their annual holiday extravaganza entitled The Holiday Show. The concert will stream online starting Saturday, December 5 at 7:00PM ET and remain available until Sunday, December 20 at 11:59PM ET. The video is available with the purchase of a ticket for $25. Patrons can purchase a ticket by visiting the GMCW website at gmcw.org.
In honor of their 40th anniversary season, GMCW brings you some of their best hits from their annual holiday extravaganzas over the years, plus many never-before-seen virtual performances, some all-new dance numbers from 17th Street Dance, new music from all of our vocal ensembles and the GenOUT Youth Chorus, plus a virtual holiday sing-a-long and much more. Songs include “Sleigh Ride,” “The 12 Rockin’ Days of Christmas,” “Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy,” “Jingle Bells,” “Boogie Boogie Frosty,” and “Silent Night.”
The Holiday Show video will be available from December 5, 2020 at 7PM ET until December 20, 2020 at 11:59 PM ET. After placing your ticket order, you will receive an email with a link to watch the concert at your convenience during that period. One ticket allows viewing on one device.

The Holiday Show video can be viewed more than once on the same device for 48 hours after the first viewing.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the landscape for all performing arts groups. We cannot gather in person to perform as we would normally do. But GMCW remains committed to connecting with its audiences, as often as possible, bearing in mind that everyone’s safety is of upmost importance. For its 2020-2021 Season, GMCW will continue to raise their voice by bringing you new musical experiences and virtual events.
The program will be directed by Artistic Director Thea Kano, with choreography by Danny Aldous, Craig Cipollini, and James Ellzy. Musical accompaniment provided by Teddy Guerrant.

About the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC
Under the direction of Artistic Director Thea Kano, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC is now in its 40th season. The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC sings to inspire equality and inclusion with musical performances and education promoting justice and dignity for all. GMCW has more than 300 singing members, four select ensembles, a youth chorus, 50 support volunteers, more than 300 subscribers, 500 donors, and an annual audience of more than 10,000 people.
GMCW is honored to include in its history iconic venues such as the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the White House, Carnegie Hall, Symphony Hall in Boston, the Lincoln Memorial, presidential inauguration celebrations, and more. GMCW features four select adult outreach ensembles: Potomac Fever, a 14-voice close harmony group; Rock Creek Singers, a 32-voice chamber ensemble; Seasons of Love, an inspirational and gospel group; and 17th Street Dance, a dance ensemble.
Since 2001, GMCW has maintained a robust youth outreach program, GenOUT, that offers free tickets to high school students, parents and teachers, in addition to offering in-school outreach and empowerment programs. In 2015, the Chorus launched the GenOUT Chorus, the first LGBTQ youth chorus in the area. The GenOUT Chorus has grown to include students from 30 area schools.
The Chorus demonstrates its commitment to community outreach projects by participating in the Whitman-Walker Walk to End HIV, an annual toy drive to benefit Community Family Life Services, Christmas Eve caroling at the National Institutes of Health and volunteering at Food & Friends. GMCW is a proud member of Chorus America, the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses (GALA Choruses), and the Cultural Alliance of Washington.
