ROCKVILLE, MD – Rockville Little Theatre (RLT) is pleased to announce the return of in-person theatre for the 2021-2022 season. In operation since 1948, RLT is the oldest continuously operating live theatre in Montgomery County. We provide high quality performances at reasonable prices. RLT strives to entertain, enlighten, and educate all who attend our theatrical events. We offer an opportunity for community members to step out of their everyday lives and to assume new roles as playwrights, actors, directors, costume designers, set designers, and audiences. RLT is a non-profit all-volunteer community theatre organization.
In this, their 74th season, RLT returns to the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre in Rockville with three classic plays:
September 24 – October 3, 2021
Written by Neil Simon
Directed by Laura W. Andruski
At a gathering for their tenth wedding anniversary, the host lies bleeding, and his wife is nowhere in sight. His lawyer and wife must get “the story” straight before the other guests arrive. As the confusions and miscommunications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.
January 28 – February 6, 2022
Written by Maxwell Anderson from William March’s novel
Directed by Pauline Griller-Mitchell
Christine Penmark seems to have it all, a loving husband and a daughter she dotes on. But when a child drowns under suspicious circumstances, the whole town starts to speculate about what really happened… was it truly an accident? Who knows more than they are telling? Christine’s secret past is revealed and the fear grows to a chilling finale in this psychological thriller.
She Stoops to Conquer
April 29 – May 8, 2022
Written by Oliver Goldsmith
Directed by Jennifer Georgia
This boisterous and charming comedy of mistaken identities has delighted audiences for over two centuries with its gorgeous language, elegant costumes, and outright merriment.
A season subscription for all three plays is available for the low cost of only $54 Adult/$48 Senior. Individual tickets for each show also are available for $22. Groups of 10 or more receive 10% off the individual ticket price. Online sales begin August 1st.
