It’s time for change. Every year since 2005, Rapid Lemon Production’s Variations Project has created an amazing collection of ten-minute plays. All brand new, all by local writers. At performances of last month’s Variations on Holidays, our audiences voted to pick the theme for 2022’s project and the winner was CHANGE. Now we’re ready to get started!
What does “change” mean to you? If you’re a local writer, or even someone who’s thought about writing, we want you to join us the afternoon of March 19th at Motor House (120 W. North Avenue in Baltimore) for the 18th annual Variations Party. It starts at 12:00 noon.
At the party we’ll explore ideas about this year’s theme with a variety of fun activities:
-Take a spin on the Wheel of Change
-Brainstorm at the Grafitti Wall
There’ll be music, laughs, and the Showroom Bar will be selling refreshments. Admission to the party is free.
Help us explore the theme of CHANGE and generate sparks of ideas—the beginnings of stories. Then, go write a 10-minute play! The deadline for submission is May 31, 2022. If you miss the party, you can still participate. Pics and video will be available on our website after the party.
We’ll hold readings with the authors in June and July, for feedback and discussion. Writers will be able to make revisions, and come back for another read. Shortly after the readings, we will choose a group of roughly 7 to 12 plays which we’ll produce on stage—and start rehearsals!
