This year’s celebration will include specially priced tickets at over 40 theatres, a kickoff fest and concert at the Wharf, and community events throughout the Washington, DC region.
WASHINGTON, DC – August 31, 2022 – Theatre Washington today announced the return of Theatre Week, a three-week long celebration of the launch of the 2022-2023 theatre season in the Washington, DC region. Theatre Week will be September 22, 2022 – October 9, 2022 and will offer residents and visitors an opportunity to explore the vibrant and diverse theatre industry in the Washington, DC-area with spectacular shows at discounted prices, a Kickoff Fest and Concert on the Southwest waterfront, and other community events.
The 2022 Theatre Week Kickoff Fest and Concert will take place on Saturday, September 24 on the Waterfront in Southwest. The Fest from 11am-3pm at Arena Stage (1101 Sixth Street SW), will feature performances, workshops, conversations, free locally-made food & drinks, giveaways, and more fun from over 40 DC-area theatres. The Kickoff Concert will follow on the floating stage (Transit Pier) on the Wharf, and will feature performances from Washington, DC-area theatre luminaries such as Rayanne Gonzales, Sarah Anne Sillers, Kanysha Williams, Ryan Burke, Chani Wereley, DeCarlo Raspberry, and musical director William Yanesh. Both events are free with registration through Goldstar, the official ticketing partner of Theatre Week.
