Seeking union and non-union talent for the Annapolis Shakespeare Company’s 2019-20 season. Specifically seeking classically trained actors, or actors who have experience with Shakespearean text.
The season includes: “Hamlet” (Rehearsals begin Aug. 28; runs Sept. 28-Oct. 27), “All That Jazz!” (Rehearsals begin Sept. 4; runs Oct. 5-20), “A Christmas Carol” (Rehearsals begin Oct. 29; runs Nov. 30-Dec. 29), “A Broadway Holiday” (Rehearsals begin Nov. 12; runs Dec. 12-28),”The 39 Steps” (Rehearsals begin Jan. 14, 2020; runs Feb. 15-Mar. 8),”You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” (Rehearsals begin Feb. 25, 2020; runs Mar. 28-Apr. 19), “Treasure Island” (Rehearsals begin Apr. 14, 2020; runs May 16-June 21),”Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (Abridged)” (Rehearsals begin Apr. 28, 2020; runs May 26-Sept. 8, Tuesdays only) and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (Rehearsals begin June 15, 2020; runs July 9-20)
Actors of all ethnicities are encouraged to submit. All roles are paid.
Callback Dates: July 16 10:00AM-5:00PM, July 17th 12:00 PM-7:00 PM, July 23 10:00 AM- 5:00 PM for plays. And July 22 6:00 PM-11:00 PM for musicals.
Submissions should include headshot/resume, availability for callback dates, season availability, and video audition: actors should submit two contrasting monologues (at least one classical in verse). Singers should submit two pieces showing range, at least one of which should be from a golden age musical (pre-1960s). Dancers should prepare a video sample of their work.
